I have a question about this WOD and I thought I'd get some advice here... My workout looked like Tammy's. I did real pull-ups until I had to do 24 in the fourth round, then I switched to jumping.
I convinced myself to do "half jumping pullups" at that fourth round. My bar is a little high so I really have to jump and pull to get up to it. Calling them half jumping pullups helped ease my guilt about not doing the whole thing with real ones, but it would have taken me forever to recover. My time was 24:17.
All this to ask: what should I be doing? Going hard all the way through, even if that means switching to jumping? Or stick with the RX'd and forget about my heartrate (and time)?
Sorry for the long question, thanks for the help.

Kristin, I say do it all as RX'D even if it takes you longer as long as your strength is there. When I first started doing real pull-ups I had the same dilemma. Finally I said it's time to let go of the pacifier and just do workouts as RX'D excepting the fact my times would suck for awhile. I have to say it's much more rewarding to say you did it as RX'D and it also makes you stronger in the long run.

thank goodness tomorrow's a rest day cause my butt is killing me. :)
Ok. You guys did great, and you're making me feel like a wimp. Great work, thanks. LOL
I did the WOD as RX'd, however, I replaced MUs with 4 PUs and 4 Dips for each MU. Therefore, I did 8, 16, 24, 32, and then 40 PUs and Dips. I did jumpers on the 40s for PUs instead of kippers. I was worn out. I did negatives for the 40 Dips instead of full dips. Again, I was worn out. You guys who do MUs... You've got my respect. I've still got my eye on doing MUs for my New Years wish, though.
Oh! I did the WOD in 46:25. Yikes!
